I created 100 studies to support Great Ormonde Street Hospital for Children’s Charity (GOSH).
 
As part of a team effort to raise funds for GOSH, I challenged myself to create 100 paintings in 24 hours on Saturday 14th Dec 2024.
 
Each study is an original artwork. Painted with the highest quality and archival art materials and on acid free 300gsm cold pressed watercolour paper in size A5.
 
100% of the profit from these studies goes to GOSH. In this case the full £10 paid will be paid to GOSH.
 
 
What are studies?
 
Abstract art has always captured my attention but I must admit that only after becoming a practicing artist, I realised that it requires real skills and practice to create something effective or minimal. Picasso once said: "It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child." I find that abstract art engages my brain and creativity in a very different way. The constant battle of finding the right colour palette and composition to then integrating different tools for interesting mark making - all in search for bringing my piece together at the end.
 
 
Abstract studies are an important part of my practice. They allow me to be intuitive, which encourages freedom to create without fear. When I initally started to create the studies and shared my process, many people reached out asking to buy them (sometimes literally asking to cut out my sketchbook pages). These little colour compositions have now become a popular stand alone art in my collection. They have helped to raise funds for different charitable causes after which I decided to include them in my permanent collection to offer affordable original art. Some of my abstract studies are also occasionally available as greeting cards.
 
 
The actual colour of the paint is difficult to capture on a photo and different screen settings may alter the colours.
 
Embossed with my artist sign, hand numbered and sent in a protective crystal sleeve.
 
Mount or frame not included but always happy to consult with the collector on options to consider for best fit in their interior.
